Lithium-ion battery that uses violet tungsten oxide as a negative electrode material and can achieve ultra-fast charging. This battery has applications ranging from automobiles, micro/light hybrid trains, elevators, uninterruptible power supply UPS to high current power supply. The application advantages are obvious and the coverage is wide.
It is known that the tungsten oxide powder used as new cathode material for battery is due to its electronic conductivity and lithium ion diffusion, enabling ultra-fast charge and discharge. This material can build high-power-density battery to realize smaller and lighter devices.
Violet tungsten oxide is a kind of tungsten oxide. Its appearance is purple finely crystalline powder. It is a tungsten oxide product developed in China in recent years. Its phase composition is W18O49. Because it has the largest mesopore volume and the smallest micropore volume, narrowest pore size distribution, smallest fractal dimension, largest average pore size and specific surface area, it is preferred material for making ultrafine tungsten powder or nano tungsten powder, photocatalytic materials, petroleum catalysts, microelectronic integrated circuit boards.
Violet tungsten oxide has a very high chemical activity and can enhance electronic conductivity. Its internal resistance is small, and it has excellent lithium ion diffusivity. Using violet tungsten oxide as the cathode of the battery can realize large current charge and discharge. In particular, the discharge characteristics are excellent in a low-temperature environment, and it has a rate characteristic equal to or higher than that of an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) even at -40°C. Until now, the rate characteristics of lithium-ion secondary batteries and lithium-ion capacitors at low temperatures have been unsolved.
The characteristic of this battery is that the power density and energy density can be increased to 2 to 3 times of the double layer capacitor. Compared with lithium-ion capacitors designed to increase the energy density of EDLC, the energy density has also been improved. In the field of capacitors, lithium-ion secondary batteries are not suitable for high output applications due to insufficient output power and development difficulties. The development of this battery will make it possible to use batteries in high output applications. If promoted, tungsten material will no longer be just a bystander in the field of lithium-ion battery manufacturing.
